Arlington, VA - Famous for our great food, affordable prices, and friendly service, The Front Page has been a Dupont Circle institution since the day we opened our doors in 1987 and now open in Arlington. Whether you want to watch the game on one of our nine televisions, enjoy a relaxing meal with family and friends, or have a cocktail and dance the night away we are the perfect place.
The architectural highlights of exposed brick lend a rustic sensibility in the middle of bustling Ballston, while the white tablecloths and linen napkins provide a touch of cosmopolitan elegance. Our walls are decorated with framed front pages celebrating historic events from across the globe, some dating to the 1800's.
Our menu highlights American cuisine, with Steaks, Pastas, Seafood prominently featured as well as sandwiches, salads, and the best Baby Back Ribs you will ever have. In addition, every night for dinner and every weekday for lunch our chefs prepare several sumptuous specials. Saturdays we have an a-la-Carte breakfast menu and Sundays we serve an extensive All You Can Eat Country Brunch Buffet. We have two full service bars, and we have an extensive wine list with over 20 wines by the glass. Come join us and experience the best that Arlington has to offer!

The Origins of the Front Page Restaurant
When Richard Nixon resigned the Presidency in 1974, Dick Heidenberger saw the Front Page of the Washington Post and the then Evening Star with the Bold headline "Nixon Resigns" and thought that someday this would be a historical newspaper and worth keeping. When the Washington Redskins won the Super Bowl against Miami Dolphins, and that famous picture of John Riggins carrying several of the Miami players on his back into the end zone; that became another Front Page worth keeping.
During this time, Heidenberger along with partners "Pancho" Bates and "Micky" Tobin were opening a restaurant off Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. Everything was set except for the name. Dick, having assembled a collection of two Front Pages, thought why not fill the restaurant with famous Front Pages, and name the restaurant The Front Page. The theory being that people love to read about famous events from the past…The Titanic, WWW II, Lindberg,The first astronaut in space Allen Sheppard, John Glenn, Al Capone, and on and on. With the help of his partners and friends, he was able to assemble a rather handsome collection of Front Pages as far back as 1892. The Restaurant opened in October 1986 with 120 framed historical Front Pages hung throughout the restaurant. After 20 years the Front Page at Dupont Circle has been and continues to be, one of the best restaurants in the area.
After several offers from area developers to place a second Front Page somewhere, Dick along with partners Jorge Fernandez, Jim Weisgerber, Craig Merrills, and Steve Montgomery opened the second Front Page in Ballston. Due to the tremendous success of the original restaurant and the reputation and knowledge of the owners operating several other restaurants in D.C and Delaware, the Front Page in Ballston now shares in that same success. Enjoy the Front Page and "read about it". |
